Benefits Medical Insurance Vision Insurance Dental Insurance 401(k) Paid Sick hours Job Description Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers (asset‑based carriers, owner‑operators, and small fleets) to build a reliable capacity network for key lanes and customers. Source, qualify, and onboard new carriers in alignment with company compliance, safety, and insurance standards, leveraging TMS tools such as Aljex and integrated carrier onboarding solutions. Negotiate spot and contract rates with carriers daily to meet or exceed margin targets while ensuring service requirements are met. Match the right truck to the right load based on equipment type, location, transit time, and service expectations, using internal load boards and external marketplaces as needed. Execute and manage shipments from tender to delivery, including dispatching carriers, confirming appointments, and communicating pickup/delivery instructions. Utilize digital visibility tools such as MacroPoint and MyCarrierPortal to enable real‑time tracking, monitor ETA, and maintain high tracking compliance across active loads. Proactively track and trace shipments, identify exceptions, and resolve service issues (delays, breakdowns, missed appointments, OS&D) while keeping customers and internal teams informed. Update and maintain accurate records of carrier profiles, rates, load details, communications, and status updates in the TMS (e.g., Aljex) and related platforms. Collaborate closely with customer sales, operations, and accounting to support pricing, capacity planning, claims resolution, and on‑time invoicing. Meet or exceed daily/weekly activity and performance metrics, such as outbound calls, loads covered, margin per load, and tracking compliance. Manage order entry and create orders for customers through systems, phone, and email as needed. Exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to handling difficult situations and provide timely escalation and/or feedback to direct supervisor regarding service failures, customer complaints, or any other matters requiring attention. Meet departmental and personal profit margin goals Performs other special projects and task as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree preferred 3+ years of transportation experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or truckload operations (TL/LTL) strongly preferred. Hands‑on experience with freight brokerage platforms and tools such as Aljex (TMS), MacroPoint (real‑time visibility), and web‑based carrier portals like MyCarrierPortal or similar systems. Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills with proven ability to manage carrier relationships in a high‑volume environment. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment. Proficiency with basic computer applications (email, spreadsheets, web‑based platforms) and comfort learning new logistics technologies. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and self-driven, with a strong commitment to achieving results Preferred Skills: Experience operating within a modern digital freight environment using real‑time visibility and automated tracking tools. Knowledge of U.S. over‑the‑road transportation market, including equipment types, regional markets, and seasonality.
