Description Job Title: CASA Advocate Supervisor Department: CASA Reports to: CASA Director Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) Type: Hybrid (In-person/remote work schedule) FLSA: Non-Exempt A. Overview The CASA Advocate Supervisor will supervise and support a group of Volunteer Advocates who advocate for abused and neglected children involved in Care and Protection cases heard out of the Essex County Juvenile Courts (Salem, Lynn, Lawrence, and Newburyport). The role requires the capability of working independently as well as in a team environment. B. Key Duties and Responsibilities Supervise, support, and motivate Volunteer Advocates as they advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children. Work with coworkers to match experienced Volunteer Advocates to act as a mentor with newly trained Volunteer Advocates; provide on-going support and supervision as needed. Conduct monthly advocate supervision meeting (in person, via video conference, or by phone) using the programs approved advocate supervision form. Troubleshoot complex cases and communicate with parties to the case to ensure positive outcomes for the child(ren). Review, approve and edit Volunteer Advocates court reports and finalize and distribute to the Court and parties to the case. Attend court hearings and other meetings, including and not limited to foster care reviews, IEP meetings, and treatment plan meetings, as needed. Ensure accurate and timely submission of case related data into a case management database. Provide any additional case related information or data as requested. Participate in CASA recruitment events and activities including generation of materials such as invitations, cards, flyers, calendars, etc, as needed. Coordinate in conjunction with the Director regular postings to appropriate social media platforms. Participate in fundraising and community engagement activities. Assist with recruitment and training of new volunteer advocates. Support new employees with training during onboarding and continue to collaborate and participate in department discussions, meetings, and activities to foster a team approach. Complete National CASA Preservice Facilitator Training and participate in preservice training for new Volunteer Advocates. Prepare and conduct monthly ongoing training for Volunteer Advocates. Other duties as assigned or requested by the Director. Requirements C. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a related field, or an Associate’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Flexibility to work occasional evening and weekend hours. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the child welfare field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel along with the ability to learn new software applications. Experience working with volunteers. Knowledge and understanding of juvenile law, child abuse and neglect, families in crisis, and other social services skills. Experience and competency working with diverse families and cultures including the Latinx community. D.
