Join us in this incredible work and be a miracle to someone today Our Domestic Violence Shelter provides individuals as well as families fleeing abuse a safe place to heal. This confidential shelter is one of only two domestic violence shelters in the East Valley. Our shelter provides free services, which include case management to help clients get back on their feet as well as counseling services.  JOB SUMMARY:   Responsible for covering assigned shift within a 24/7 domestic violence shelter. This position is for every other weekend from 11:00pm to 7:00am (Friday and Saturday nights).   JOB DUTIES:  1. Answer crisis phone calls in a professional manner, complete phone screen with potential clients, and make appropriate referrals for callers who need other services.  Document crisis phone calls in database system and update SAFEDVS regarding available bed space. 2. Completes intake paperwork for all new clients and their children, develops individual service plans in accordance with shelter procedural manual, and obtains relevant consent for services. 3. Provide case management and crisis counseling to shelter clients and their children and accurately document all client contact before the end of shift.  This includes entering supportive services into the database system.     4. Provide oversight of student interns and volunteers and provide coaching when necessary.  5. Conducts scheduled and unscheduled walk-through of premises to monitor client safety, general maintenance, and completion of household chores.  Advise leader(s) of any problems or of any items needing repairs.         6. Attends staff meeting to evaluate client service plans and makes recommendations for both adults and children when appropriate.  7. Facilitates educational and therapeutic groups for clients and their children.  8. Attends and maintains training as required by the agency. 9. Responsible for cleaning and preparing rooms for new client(s) entering shelter. 10. Manage and respond appropriately to any crisis that arise with clients in the shelter. 11. Input client satisfaction survey data into database system. 12. Attend tabling events to educate community on My Sisters’ Place services and the dynamics of domestic violence relationships.   13. Explores community resources and makes resources available to clients by developing and maintaining good relations with community agencies and stakeholders.   14. Assists clients with creating and updating their resume, applying for jobs, and maintaining a job positing bulletin board at the shelter.  15. Administer anxiety, depression, or substance use assessment when applicable to determine appropriate referrals and resources. 16. Submit monthly reports to leader by identified due date. 17. When applicable, monitor the self-administration of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests.   18. Make necessary purchases at local vendors based on clients’ individual needs.   19. Promote ongoing commitment to excellence and continual quality improvement to ensure the highest quality of services to our staff and clients. 20. Performs other duties as assigned.   JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Education /Background:  High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of internship or work experience with those experiencing domestic violence or similar work.  Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field with at least one year of experience preferred. 2. Job Knowledge:  Ability to establish rapport and work effectively with both children and adults who have experienced abuse in a family environment. General knowledge of domestic violence, ability to work with individuals from a diverse background. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook). 3. Working Conditions/Physical Demands:  Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Must be able to visually and auditory assess and interact with clients to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holiday hours as needed. May lift up to 25 pounds. 4. Other requirements: 1. Valid AZ driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to show proof of registration/insurance. b. You must be 21 years of age or older to drive on behalf of Catholic Charities. c. Level One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance; must maintain clearance.  d. Must have or complete training in CPR and First Aid and remain current in the certification. e. Must have annual TB test required for position. f. Must attend Sharing the Experience training through the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence within six (6) months of employment with Catholic Charities.  Hourly rate starting at $17.11 and may increase depending on experience.   We Value Diversity!
