    Kinship placements in out-of-home care serve as the primary and preferred option when a young person cannot reside with their parents. This field is experiencing rapid growth, making it an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

THE SKILLS WE WANT YOU TO USE DAY TO DAY:

  • The agility and skill to engage with complex individuals
  • Using creative thinking and skill to engage carers, families and children
  • A good knowledge of and a trauma informed approach
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to meet timelines
  • Sophisticated understanding of the legislative, policy and practice environment of Out of Home Care and a passion for learning.
  • Strong engagement, communication, advocacy and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong written communication
  • Strong networking and stakeholder engagement to promote the Best Interests of children
  • Demonstrated experience in case management.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • A salary at starting at SCHCADS level 5 which equates to around $100,776 plus super at 12%.
  • Flexible through the increments dependent upon experience.
  • Permanent, full time.

Responsibilities
  • A rounded approach engaging schools, families and carers in support and case management.
  • Have a passion for working with children and young people impacted by trauma who reside in out of home care.
  • Have creative thinking and problem-solving skills to engage those who might be resistant to supports.
  • Committed to achieving positive outcomes for carers, young people and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with their team and team leader.
  • Continuously liaise with DFFH Child Protection.
