JOB SUMMARY: The Bilingual Navigator Case Worker provides comprehensive, holistic support services to vulnerable immigrants, assisting them in identifying and accessing needed services. The position works with clients to assess needs, develop a plan, and operationalize the plan, leading to positive social outcomes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform individual casework through: Conducting needs assessments with clients and developing goal plans in accordance with the needs and wishes of the clients. Making referrals to providers and assisting clients in connecting with providers for benefit programs, support services, and training and educational opportunities. Collaborate with service providers and advocate for clients as needed by: Maintaining prompt and regular contact with clients in the ongoing provision of services. Conducting monthly follow-up with clients for up to one year to evaluate and document service success and outcomes. Collaborate with the Newcomer Network team in the provision of services by: Actively participating in team meetings, reporting on the progress of cases, and working with colleagues to problem solve and develop solutions. Working with Immigration Legal Services staff to support clients in action plans that will lead to positive legal outcomes Provide training and education to clients by: Hosting and teaching classes covering a range of topics of particular interest to newcomers. Preparing and organizing class materials and handouts. Using best practices and maintaining high instructional standards. Scheduling and administering pre-tests, post-tests, and assessments and accurately recording results. Documenting attendance and participation according to agency protocols Conduct outreach through: Cultivating and maintaining productive relationships with community contacts, including but not limited to government and non-government agencies, parishes, schools, and medical providers. Attending community meetings and outreach events. Supporting recruitment efforts for volunteers and targeted service providers. Document outputs and outcomes by: Promptly administering initial assessment instruments and periodic follow-up assessments and entering scores in the database. Entering and maintaining client data into designated computer systems and maintaining client files (paper and electronic) in accordance with policies and procedures. Tracking all referrals and their outcomes. Timely completing and submitting qualitative and quantitative reports as required. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: AA degree Three (3) years’ experience providing services to vulnerable populations. SKILLS and COMPETENCIES: Driving is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Strong spoken communication skills in English and in Spanish.
