Join Our Team: Case Worker – AOD Services Location: Rowes Bay, Townsville Classification: SCHADS Level 4 Status: Permanent, Full-Time Why this Role Matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely. About the Role As a Case Worker with The Salvation Army, you’ll provide vital support to individuals on their recovery journey. You’ll deliver case management, assessments, referrals, education, and client support in line with our established guidelines and person-centered, recovery-focused approach. How You Will Make an Impact Deliver day-to-day case work, including education, interventions, group work, assessments, and referrals Develop, implement, and monitor individual treatment plans, maintaining accurate documentation and reports Support continuous improvement by embracing innovation and quality in service delivery Collaborate professionally with internal teams and external service providers Build and maintain knowledge of referral pathways and support services Undertake additional duties as required by management What You Will Bring Minimum Diploma-level qualification in AOD, Community Services, Case Management, or related field Completion of the 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willingness to complete during employment) At least 2 years’ experience in recovery or related services (preferred) Strong skills in managing unpredictable situations using effective de-escalation techniques Sound computer literacy and data management skills Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check) Current Driver’s Licence What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
