(CPC) aims to promote the social and economic empowerment of Chinese American, immigrant, and low-income communities. Today, CPC is the nation's largest Asian American social services agency and offers more than 50 programs at over 35 sites throughout New York City, including early childhood education, school-age care, youth services, workforce development, community services, and senior services. (For more information, please visit: https://www.cpc-nyc.org/) PROGRAM SUMMARY The Chinatown Older Adult Center was founded in 1974 and serves more than 500 community members every week. The goal of the Older Adult Center is to make the center a second home for the seniors by providing nutritious meals, various activities, health workshops, case assistance and information/referral, summer field outings, and special events. JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Director, the full-time Caseworker will assist in planning and conducting recreational, educational, and cultural activities for Older Adult members. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Provide case assistance and information/referrals to members. Organize Walk with Ease and assist with field trips and special events. In charge of coordinating weekly Bingo games for members. Handle client registration. Answer incoming phone calls. Monitor AED and keep records. Prepare and post program notices on bulletin board. Attend required trainings and workshops as needed. Organize health and educational workshops. Assist congregate lunch program. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Associate’s degree preferred. Specialized training or skills in recreational activities or two years’ experience in a community, group work or teaching environment are preferred. Skills and Competencies: Good communication and organization skills. Computer knowledge is required. Fluent in English and Mandarin and/or Cantonese is a must.
