                    JOB TITLE  Caseworker Level 1  PROGRAM  Post Release Services  REPORTS TO  Caseworker Supervisor  SALARY   $25.41 LOCATION  Texas JOB TYPE  Full-Time Non-Exempt  WORK SCHEDULE  Five Days per Week, 40 Hours per Week      General Description  The PRS Caseworker (Level I)  is responsible for conducting well-being and follow-up contact with children and their sponsors.  The PRS Caseworker must have experience working with children and youth, be familiar with trauma informed care, and child welfare practices.  The PRS Caseworker provides support to children and sponsors, and assesses, and refers for additional services based on the needs of the family. PRS Caseworker will have knowledge of local social services, community outreach and experience working with diverse populations.    About You  The ideal candidate for our program is a self-motivated and dedicated person who is excited and passionate about helping children and sponsors.  You are also a personable, energetic, and empathetic person who can manage multiple projects in a prioritized manner to meet internal Urban Strategies goals. You have the following Competencies: Ability to provide guidance and support to staff. Foster a harmonious work environment and find mutually beneficial resolutions that promote teamwork.      Minimum Qualifications  * Minimal one year experience working with children and youth, case management, or child welfare services. * Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, or other social service field, preferred. * Be able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases. * Must be proficient in Spanish and able to communicate effectively with children, sponsors, and staff. * Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Word/Excel). * Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required by contractual agreement. * Must be able to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR).             What You’ll Be Doing  * Manages an assigned caseload (fluctuates) of post release services.  * Complies with US and ORR policies, procedures, and mandated timeframes. * Collaborates with care providers in verifying and assessing whether additional information may be necessary to determine successful sponsorship.  * Evaluates the sponsor’s ability to provide appropriate care and a safe living environment for the child. * Assesses, identifies, verifies, and makes recommendations in areas where additional support, resources, or information may be needed to meet a child’s needs and provisions of a safe environment. * Maintains telephone contact and conducts virtual and on occasion, in-person home visits with children and sponsors.  * The PRS CW I, PRS Case Manager II and PRS Case Manager III, will collaborate on their ongoing assessment of cases to determine if they should be moved between the different PRS levels based on the development and outcome of the child and sponsor’s needs.   * Continues on-going case worker services through assessments, planning, evaluating, facilitating, and providing psychoeducation to children and their sponsor.  * Maintains appropriate documentation, safeguards confidential records, and protects personally identifiable information according to program regulations.  * Identifies and reports concerns related to children and sponsors, life changing events and significant incidences to the program and ORR. Acts as a mandated reporter and reports abuse/neglect, and exploitation to child protective services, law enforcement and required entities. * Participates in training, meetings, and maintains quality improvement initiatives as recommended.  * This role requires some travel to conduct in person visits in surrounding locations in the United States.  May include working evenings and weekends to meet timelines and reporting standards. * Related duties as assigned and may be revised as needed to meet program needs. * Attend all Training, departmental and program meeting to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information about policy changes or practice is adhered to       About Urban Strategies  Urban Strategies exists to equip, resource and connect faith- and community-based organizations so that all children and families can reach their full potential.
