About Harvest House:
For over 26 years, Harvest House Atlantic (HHA) is a registered not for profit charity that exists to meet the needs of people who are lost, lonely, addicted, and hurting, by “Connecting people of compassion with people in need to make a difference.” Our services include our Emergency Shelter, Community Centre, Addiction Recovery Programs, and Community Based Residential Programs.
As we cater to the needs of the homeless and unhoused populations, we are actively seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Housing Focused Case Worker.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • The successful job applicant will have completed Two (2) years of Community College, in relevant social work studies.
  • An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.
  • Experience and Skilled Knowledge preferred
  • A minimum of one year of prior related experience, including frontline involvement in a social service environment, considered an asset

  • Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
  • Ability to educate and/or coordinate with other providers on various life skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for daily communication with clientele.
  • Note taking and file management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to identify challenges, gathering all the facts of a person’s case.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage participants and refer them to resources in the community, journeying with them on their path to wellness.
  • Familiar with community resources.
  • Be a team player and a person with positive thinking to develop a good working.
