The Position The Opportunity: As a Cash Applications & Accounts Receivable Accountant based in San José, Costa Rica, you will be a key driver of financial accuracy within the Roche Services Americas team. This center provides critical Finance and Procurement services to various countries across the Americas region. Your primary mission is to ensure that all incoming payments are identified, matched, and applied to customer accounts with precision, effectively "closing the loop" on the Invoice-to-Cash cycle. Key Responsibilities: Cash Application: Execute daily posting of incoming payments (Wire, ACH, Checks) and accurately match remittances to customer invoices. Reconciliation: Manage bank account reconciliations and clear AR/bank suspense accounts to ensure zero unexplained variances. Operational AR: Handle manual invoicing, corrections, and customer credit analysis to support regional financial health. Dispute Management: Identify and code payment discrepancies (short-pays/over-payments) and resolve inquiries from affiliates and customers. Process Improvement: Propose automation and system enhancements (SAP/BlackLine) to improve "auto-match" rates and SSC efficiency. Who You Are: You are a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of accounting flows and a commitment to high-integrity financial reporting. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. Experience: 3+ years in Finance/Accounting; Shared Services experience is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP, BlackLine, or similar ERPs, and advanced Excel/G-Suite skills. Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Intermediate Portuguese is strongly preferred Competencies: Strong ability to prioritize under tight deadlines and a focus on proactive problem-solving.
