JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a committed and passionate server to join the Suya Bistro team. An ideal candidate for this position will have great enthusiasm for hospitality and a dedication to providing exceptional service for our customers. Additionally, they will be able to effectively self monitor as well as be efficient while working independently. As a server at the Suya Bistro, you will play a critical role in creating positive and memorable experiences for customers by ensuring customers receive friendly and efficient service and accurately informing management of the needs of the business as a whole.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in food service is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Nigerian and West African Cuisine is preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge in food safety and handling practices
  • Basic math skills for accurately handling cash transactions
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast paced environment
  • Flexibility to work various days, including holidays
  • Must be available to work at least 3 full days per week, from opening till closing.

EXPERIENCE:

Food Service: 1 year (preferred)

Responsibilities
  • Open the restaurant and do any necessary prep work pre-opening
  • Greet Guests in a friendly manner and answer any initial questions
  • Accurately prepare and package food orders in a timely manner while ensuring adherence to food safety standards
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the dining and food prep areas
  • Taking accurate orders using the POS system
  • Upsell items on the menu in order to provide an enhanced experience.
  • Answer phone calls for take out orders and any other inquiries in a professional manner
  • Monitor and receive orders from online ordering platforms
  • Handle cash transactions, including accurately providing change
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation
  • Close the restaurant and do all necessary closing activities (i.e. inventory check, till count, clean up, etc.)
