The District of Summerland is committed to providing outstanding customer service. We are currently inviting applications for the casual position of Cashier in the Aquatic & Fitness Centre. Casual cashiers have the opportunity to bid on available shifts or commit to weekly shifts to fulfill the cashier scheduling needs of the Aquatic & Fitness Centre. Additional cashier shifts become available when frontline employees are absent due to vacation, medical leave, or illness.
Staff in the casual pool must be available to work on an “as needed” basis, between 4:00pm and 8:15pm Monday – Friday and between 9:00am and 3:00pm Saturday – Sunday. Monday to Friday daytime availability is an asset. There are no weekend cashier hours in July and August. Hours may be subject to change. To stay current in procedures, the successful candidates must be available for a minimum commitment of 10 hours per season (January – March, April – June, July-August, September – December).
The successful applicants will have previous cashier and POS experience. A valid Standard First Aid with CPR “C”/AED Certificate is a requirement or an ability and willingness to obtain one. Any recreation registration software experience, including Perfect Mind, is beneficial. A pleasant telephone manner, general office knowledge and strong customer service skills are required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to pick up tasks and computer systems quickly, have an attention to detail, and have the ability to multi- task.
