Description:
- Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner, offering assistance and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Processing Transactions: Accurately scan and process purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash, debit/credit card payments, and gift cards.
- Bagging Groceries: Efficiently bag groceries, ensuring that items are packed securely and appropriately, with an emphasis on preventing damage to fragile items.
- Handling Returns and Exchanges: Process returns, refunds, and exchanges according to store policies, ensuring proper documentation and communication with the customer.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the checkout area clean and organized, wiping down surfaces and restocking bags, receipt paper, and other supplies as needed.
- Price Verification: Assist customers with price checks and resolve any discrepancies regarding product pricing, including applying discounts or promotions when applicable.
- Balancing Cash Drawer: At the end of each shift, count the cash drawer to ensure it balances with sales totals, and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Handling Inquiries: Answer customer questions regarding store policies, promotions, or products, and direct them to appropriate store staff for further assistance when needed.
- Promoting Store Programs: Inform customers about store loyalty programs, discounts, and promotions, encouraging participation to enhance their shopping experience.
- Assisting with Checkout Line Flow: Monitor the flow of customers through checkout lanes, opening additional lanes when necessary and ensuring customers are served efficiently.
- Following Safety and Security Protocols: Adhere to store security policies when handling cash and payments to prevent theft, fraud, or errors.
