Description

The Cashier/Dispatcher plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and coordinating the efficient flow of orders in the restaurant. This position involves handling cash transactions, managing customer inquiries, and effectively communicating with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of food.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry, is advantageous.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Proficiency in using POS systems and familiarity with basic computer operations.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to handle multiple orders and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage industry practices, including hygiene and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Greet customers warmly, provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and promptly address their inquiries or concerns.
  • Accurately process customer orders, including taking food and beverage orders, entering them into the point-of-sale (POS) system, and calculating totals.
  • Accept payments from customers using cash, credit cards, or digital payment methods and provide accurate change when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cash register area, including ensuring the availability of necessary supplies, such as receipt paper and cash drawers.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of transactions and daily cash balances, ensuring compliance with cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
  • Utilizing the aggregator system to check the performance and connectivity of tablets used for order processing.
  • Monitoring and managing online orders received through the aggregator platform, ensuring timely preparation and delivery.
  • Applying discounts and promotional offers accurately using the aggregator system, ensuring customer orders reflect the correct pricing and promotions.
  • Checking the availability of items by accessing the digital inventory maintained within the aggregator system and updating it in real-time with any changes or substitutions.
  • Communicate customer orders to the kitchen staff, ensuring accuracy and clarity, and prioritize orders based on dining room capacity, delivery requests, or other special instructions.
  • Manage phone calls and customer inquiries, providing information on menu items, prices, specials, and any other relevant details.
  • Upsell and promote additional items or special offers to customers, enhancing the overall customer experience and maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and service teams to resolve customer concerns, complaints, or special requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and allergen information to address customer questions and concerns appropriately.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures, including verifying the authenticity of cash payments and reporting any suspicious activities to the supervisor.
  • Assist in other front-of-house duties, such as seating guests, bussing tables, and maintaining a clean dining area, as needed.
  • Stay informed about restaurant promotions, events, and policies to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge, customer service skills, and POS system proficiency.
