Enters transactions, makes change, receives proper authorization and signatures for charge/check transactions, and issues receipts. Payment may be made to student/employee account via debit card. Counts money at beginning and end of shift, compares totals on terminal with amount of currency in cash drawer to balance cash, checks, and/or charges. Informs supervisor when cash in drawer exceeds prescribed amounts and monitors activity around register area. Stocks, organizes, and displays merchandise by unpacking merchandise and following display directions to ensure merchandise stock is plentiful, seasonal items are displayed, and sales area is clean and well organized. Counts merchandise to record amounts in-stock so orders can be paced with vendors to replenish stock. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent. One year of related experience. Some positions within this classification may require prolonged periods of standing and the ability to bend, stoop, and twist. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (MediumMax 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
