Description
The Cashier will be responsible for scanning the customer's selected items, ensuring that prices and quantities are accurate, accepting payments, issuing receipts, answering inquiries, and providing helpful information to customers about products, promotions, or item location. The position will also be responsible for maintaining a clean workspace. Essential Duties and Other Responsibilities Perform daily cashier responsibilities. Operate scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics to accept payments. Accept payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate and provide a receipt to every customer. Bag or wrap purchases to ensure safe transport. Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change. Provide exceptional customer service. Welcome customers into the store and provide guidance to items if needed. Answer any questions or concerns from customers. Provide advice or product recommendations. Maintain department order and cleanliness to include assisting in stocking and rotating merchandise. Stay up to date on merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information. Follow all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or the purchase of specific items. Maintain a clean workspace. Report any issues with equipment to store management. Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality. Comply with company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
