Description
The Diet Host/Hostess coordinates meal and nourishment activities for each patient of Jackson Hospital consistent with the diet prescribed.  These activities include customer relations, tabulating/recording/organizing/disseminating pertinent data and information, preparing/distributing patient trays and participating in departmental quality improvement activities.   Qualifications   1. Education: High School education or equivalent (G.E.D)   1. Experience: Prior hospital, nursing home, and/or food service preferred, but not required.   1.           Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:   None Required   1. Equipment/Tools/Work Aids: Diet manual, menus, computer, printers, calculator, phone, fax machine and office supplies   1. Specialized Skills:  High customer relations skill level.  Telephone courtesy skills.  Good verbal and written communication skills.  Work requires that specialized diet prescriptions be learned and generally understood.  Basic computer and math/calculator usage skills.  Work requires knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to various age specific populations.  2. Physical Requirements:   Good hearing and visual acuity.  Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.  Physical stamina to walk and stand for long periods of time.  Also must be able to sit for long periods at a desk and/or computer.
