Job Summary: As a Cashier at The Golden Hog, you will be the face of our store, providing friendly and efficient service to every customer. Your primary responsibility is to process sales transactions accurately and promptly while creating a positive shopping experience. You will also assist with bagging groceries, handling returns, answering customer questions, and maintaining a clean, organized checkout area. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Greeting customers warmly and creating a welcoming atmosphere at the register Accurately scan, price, bag groceries, and merchandise Each customer receives only one bag; if they want additional bags, there will be a charge. Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment properly and securely Issue receipts, refunds, or credits as needed Maintain a clean, orderly checkout area, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment Assist customers with questions about products, store layout, and promotions Support other departments when needed by stocking shelves or helping with light cleaning Follow all company policies, including those related to security, cash handling, and safety Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth store operations Qualifications: Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required (training provided). Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude. Basic math skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Reliability and punctuality are a must. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 25 lbs. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed Schedule: Your standard work schedule will be five days per week, with two days off scheduled based on operational needs.
