Description Boot Country in downtown Nashville has a great opportunity for you! As a Cashier, you will play a critical customer service role by providing our guests with a fast, friendly and accurate check out experience. Essential Responsibilities: Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions. Adhere to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses. Answer customer questions and provide a professional experience for customers. Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently. Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment during service and at the end of shift. You’ll also help with keeping the store neat and looking its best, returning items to shelves and keeping the store clean and tidy. Requirements Essential Physical Requirements: (Lifting up to 5 pounds, limited bending and stooping, no climbing, limited reaching, and standing/walking/sitting as needed during shift) Ability to communicate with associates and guests. Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation. Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area. Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store. Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates. Ability to stand for long periods of time wearing western boots. Essential Qualifications: Previous retail or customer service experience. Previous cash handling experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as company manual. Ability to interact with customers. Strong communication skills are a must. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must be able to work with minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
