CASHIER I Job Description Hourly range to commensurate with qualifications No previous experience required. Listed is a representation of some of the minimal duties and functions to perform in order to be considered for this position. This is not all-inclusive and is open to any related duties and functions that may be assigned. See Lead Cashier daily for additional tasks to be completed. Work productively under the supervision of the Lead Cashier and Shift Manager. Process customer transactions at assigned cashier terminal in a timely, accurate and professional manner. Greet all our internal and external customers with a genuine smile and pleasant voice. Able to learn and be proficient with Epicor Eagle Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals and conduct all types of customer transactions. Knowledge of store layout and product location for directing customers. Know individual staff members expertise on sales floor for directing customers. Must be physically able to safely lift up to and maneuver 40 lbs. Effectively answer customer questions and/or effectively transfer incoming phone calls when not processing a customer POS transaction. Assist in training new cashiers, as needed, with procedural expertise and accuracy. This classification has an error factor rating to track accuracy. Must keep personal business and problems out of the store and away from the registers. Avoid all non-business related conversations with customer(s) and/or other staff members while at the registers. Keep conversation and comments positive. Contribute to an environment that is safe, positively stimulating, motivating and encourages harmony.
Responsibilities
The Cashier I is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and professionally at the cashier terminal. They must greet customers warmly and assist in training new cashiers as needed.
