Description Directly Reports to: Store Manager Supervises: Cashiers Position Summary: Georgetown Market is searching for a motivated customer service manager to ensure our shoppers receive the best experience possible. Your goal will be to provide outstanding customer service to our clients by developing effective customer service procedures, managing cashier staff, and setting customer satisfaction goals. To qualify for the role, the ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a customer service position, with excellent knowledge of the latest industry trends and techniques. In addition to being an excellent communicator (written and verbal), you will also demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide exceptional customer service. Oversee daily operations of the cashier staff. Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and appraise cashier staff. Create and maintain a positive work environment for all cashiers. Operate registers and perform general checkout functions. Respond to customer service issues in a timely manner. Resolve and reduce escalations. Create effective customer service procedures, policies, and standards. Develop customer satisfaction goals and coordinate with staff to meet those goals. Maintain accurate records and document all customer service activities and discussions. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Regularly attend and participate in manager meetings and store meetings, as well as plan and lead department meetings. Perform MOD (Manager on Duty) shifts and responsibilities as assigned. Stay up to date on industry trends. Review financial reports of department performance and take corrective action as necessary. Maintain regular communication with upper management. Be adaptable and flexible, taking on various duties, as needed. Perform other duties, as assigned. Self-motivated to use own initiative and to innovate, when required. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Some higher education preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. Customer service: 1 year of experience. Cashiering: 1 year of experience. Management, Supervisor, or Team Lead: 1 year of experience. Knowledge of commonly used cashier concepts, practices, and procedures. Availability to work varied hours/days, as business dictates. Evening and weekend shifts required. Dependability, efficiency, punctuality, and flexibility. Commitment to company values and exceeding the customer’s expectations.
