Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit. Responsibilities The Food Service Cashier is responsible for handling cash and credit transactions from customers. In addition, the successful candidate will assist in the setup and serving of food from counters and steam tables. Operate a cash register (or equivalent), including: receive payment of cash, make change, and issue receipts or tickets to customers. Responsible for accurate ringing of proper PLU for sale items and/or accurate bar-code scanning. Maintain proper security of cash at all times. May assist in locating, reconciling, and verifying the accuracy of transactions and operate peripheral equipment that records and supports non-cash transactions. May also be required to prepare for service before the meal and clean the dining room after the meal (wiping tables, vacuuming the floor, cleaning chairs, ensuring the acceptable appearance of the dining area). Set up and stock the beverage area, grab-and-go items, service ware, and condiments, or other assigned areas. Clean and sanitize the workstation. Brew coffee and tea. Restock other beverage areas. Interact with customers in the serving and dining areas. Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Understands and follows cash-handling policies and procedures. Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures. Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. Perform any and all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Preferred Job Requirements: At least 1 year of food service experience. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
