Cashier Location: Retail Stores (Overland Park, Shawnee, and Liberty) Reports to: Front-End Supervisor Works With: Cashiers and Team Members The role of a Cashier is to engage with guests and provide a thorough, positive shopping experience. This position ensures guests are served efficiently and cheerfully at checkout, and that all guest questions and concerns are answered promptly and with accurate information. A Cashier is expected to be kind, courteous, and always thank guests for shopping. This role will also be responsible for duties outside of the register such as maintaining a clean work environment, communicating positively and collaborating well with others, and executing tasks efficiently as directed by leadership.  The following job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position, and the duties and responsibilities may change without prior notice. Required Qualifications: • Entry level+ • Provide excellent guest experience, handle guest inquiries promptly and professionally, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.  • Possess strength in technology while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in processing transactions.  • Communicate positively and effectively with guests and team members while following policies and standards.  Essential Functions: • Work in varying weather conditions including hot, humid, cold, wet, or dry environments. • Perform physical tasks including standing, squatting, bending, lifting arms above the head, and lift items up to 50 lbs. Team lifting is required for items over 50 lbs. • Work on a variety of surfaces including, but not limited to, gravel, concrete, mud, or dirt. • Be available to work agreed upon schedule. • Stand and walk on your feet for multiple hours at a time with breaks as required by law. • Operate effectively in a high paced setting involving various individuals and teams. • Communicate promptly with guests, managers and team members throughout the store, ensuring accurate charges. • Clean the registers. • Be aware of changes to the POS screen. • Maintain thorough and accurate cash handling and register processes. • Page and coordinate carryout on every transaction. • Communicate with Front-End Supervisor regarding guest concerns. Key Expectations: • Operations- Arrive timely, prepared, and energetic for each shift. Execute tasks efficiently and with a positive attitude. • Accountability- Process each transaction with accuracy and consistency. • Guest Experience- Foster a strong culture of exceptional guest experience by ensuring all guests are greeted and feel welcomed, understood and valued. Address guests with professionalism, solve problems effectively, present sound solutions, and thank them.  Additional Expectations: • Ring up customer transactions quickly and accurately. • Identify and know prices of plant material. • Count back change correctly. • Report price discrepancies to Front-End Supervisor or leadership. • Maintain a clean and safe register area and work environment.  • Handle merchandise with care. • Know what merchandise is on sale and how to ring it in correctly. • Develop an overall awareness of where products are in the store. • Understand how tickets are written for each department. • Answer phones. • Ensure proper manners and etiquette are followed. IE: “Please”, “Thank you”, and “You’re welcome”. • Follow processes and procedures as directed by leadership.
