JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Paint Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in customer service and retail sales, with a passion for helping customers select the right paint products for their projects. This role requires excellent communication skills, technical sales abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate will also have to handle cash, credit and charge transactions in a professional and positive manner while providing customers an excellent shopping experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Be able to work in a fast paced and constantly changing retail environment.
  • Physically fit – able to stand, walk and assist with 30-50 lb packages
  • Pleasant demeanor
  • Be available to work Saturdays as needed
  • Organizational and math skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Motivated, self disciplined individual with a strong work ethic.

  • Flexibility in work schedule, eg. Store Hours are 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Mon - Fri and 8:00AM to 5:00 PM Sat., Closed Sunday

Responsibilities
  • Greet customers with a welcoming acknowledgement
  • Assist customers with purchases in checkout retail area
  • Maintain checkout area in a neat and tidy manner
  • Process sales through Point Of Sale system
  • Complete sales transaction through cash, card machine
  • Thank and acknowledge patrons upon leaving
  • Close and reconcile tills at end of day
  • Process returns and customer concerns
  • Assist customers in Paint & Housewares and Seasonal retail areas as able
  • Clean retail area floor as needed
  • Project a “helpful” image to the customers
  • Treat customers as “you” would like to be treated.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing customer base.
  • Provide advice and service to customers in Paint, housewares and décor
  • Recommend appropriate products that will meet customers’ needs
  • Mix and prepare paint
  • Be on a constant lookout for new opportunities
  • Ongoing support of new inventory SKU’s including additions and deletions.
  • Support new lines of product.
  • On request Order Inventory on a regular basis (weekly)
  • Able to take direction from Department Manager
  • Merchandize Paint & Housewares retail area
  • Install end caps and rotate displays
  • When requested attended training seminars and Home Hardware semiannual Markets.
