Primary Duties and Responsibilities 1. Welcome customers and direct them towards the different products that they are seeking or that are being promoted, if necessary. 2. Get to know the products and the store layout. 3. Charge in a kind, patient and timely manner. Being efficient without losing the focus on customer service. 4. Ensure that labeled products have the correct price and weight. 5. Make the correct transactions, distinguishing between credit card, WIC, Lone Star and cash. 5. Pay attention to detail in cash handling and ensuring that the paper bills are not fake. 7. Bag and properly separate customer purchases. 8. Ensure that the customer takes all their purchases before proceeding to the next transaction. 9. Keep the work area clean and organized. 10. Place all the merchandise that was returned or unwanted in the corresponding place. 11. Maintain the right amount of products around the registers' area to promote sales. (Medicine, shampoo and beverages, etc.). 12. Gather and place adequate amounts of bags and paper rolls for the register, in the registers' area. 13. Leave the cash register ready for the next shift with bags, paper rolls and without trash. 14. Promote the sale of additional products to increase average sales ticket. 15. Follow the rules and laws governing the sale of tobacco and alcohol. 16. Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. 17. Keep work area clean, orderly and free from safety hazards. 18. Report faulty equipment and hazards to management. 19. PERFORM ANY OTHER TASK ASSIGNED BY THE STORE MANAGER. Minimum Requirements: 1. Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). 2. Monetary knowledge: capacity to make change and give receipts. 3. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
