JOB PURPOSE: The Cashier uses cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet customers as they enter the location Accept and process payments in the form of cash, credit or debit cards, and checks for items purchased. Assist customers with questions or pricing discrepancies. Ensure accurate transactions by balancing cash drawers at the beginning along with sales at the end of shift. Process returns and exchanges according to policy. Identify process of products and services and tabulates bills with available equipment. Assist customers in locating carious products, resolving complaints, or providing information. Bag, box, and wrap purchased items. All Other Duties as Assigned Requirements QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and presentation skills with focus on serving customers. Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment. Basic mathematical skills needed to make change and give refunds. Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash register, calculator, and scanner. Ability to learn and retain knowledge about company products, services, and customer related policies. Ability to work daytime hours, Monday through Friday. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of on-the-job training. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: Regularly required to talk, use repetitive motion, type, and hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
