Description JOB OVERVIEW: Provides support in the application and adjustment of orthopedic devices and traction equipment under the direction of a physician. Prepares and maintains equipment, ensures patient safety, and assists with patient care in compliance with established protocols. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Apply and adjust plaster or fiberglass casts and orthopedic traction devices as directed. Assemble, attach, and inspect orthopedic equipment to ensure proper fit and function. Set up bed traction units or special devices as required for patient care. Monitor and adjust bandages, splints, and other orthopedic supports for patient comfort and safety. Maintain and sanitize orthopedic equipment and work areas according to facility standards. Assist medical staff with patient positioning and handling during treatment procedures. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and equipment used. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSE: DME experience preferred EDUCATION: EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent SKILLS: Orthopedic device application and adjustment Equipment assembly, inspection, and maintenance Patient care and safety awareness Attention to detail and accuracy Communication and teamwork PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
