THE ROLE & THE TEAM
We are looking for a variety of Casting Directors - Editorial & Branded Partner Campaigns (all genders) to join our internal casting team. You will play an integral part in the casting process, sourcing and booking diverse talents, models, influencers, and creatives from around the globe. You will work closely with the in-house creative team and, for some projects in close collaboration with Highsnobiety and major fashion and lifestyle brands, to shape content that inspires the fashion-forward, across different propositions like high-end designer, streetwear, sports, beauty and many more. This role requires a strategic thinker with a sharp eye for trends, a passion for fashion, and a deep understanding of digital culture. You will collaborate with Art Directors and Creative Directors, Stylist and Producers to define and execute the vision for digital editorials, campaigns, broadcast content, and Liveshows.
This role requires working across different propositions of the following areas based on your professional expertise and trained eye (This may vary based on production needs):
- Editorial (Stories at Zalando/The Statement Creative): Help shape editorial content, bringing fresh, cutting-edge talent to life across Zalando’s editorial productions, focusing on global and diverse talent with a slightly edgy Gen Z centric approach.
- Broadcasting & Liveshow: Focus on new, interactive, and engaging live shopping experiences, featuring experts, hosts and authentic guests, bringing cutting-edge talent to life across Zalando’s Broadcasting & Liveshow productions.
- CSCC (Content Strategy Consideration Curation) & Partner Campaigns (ZMS): Focus on crafting Zalando website banners and teasers and brand homes, contributing to major marketing and brand campaigns/activations with a strong emphasis on storytelling and authentic casting.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
- Source, cast, and contract talent for Zalando’s productions across activations, events, and photo/video productions, with a strong focus on global and diverse talent.
- Continuously grow and refresh the talent database, identifying emerging talents and creatives at the forefront of fashion and culture.
- Leverage deep knowledge of social media trends to select talent that aligns with Zalando’s and brand identities.
- Manage the full casting process: from casting and negotiating contracts to overseeing talent logistics and coordinating with agencies. This includes negotiating with talent agencies to secure the best rates, ensuring contracts are clear on deliverables, usage, and scope of work. This may involve understanding contractual conditions for music rights.
- Oversee influencer content productions, ensuring talent is aligned with product launches, collaborations, and brand initiatives.
- Track and report on talent campaign performance, providing insights on engagement and impact.
- Foster strong relationships with talent agencies, models, and influencers across Europe and beyond, ensuring Zalando stays ahead of industry trends.
- Maintain and keep cost sheets updated and process invoices accordingly.
- Attend regular meetings with stakeholders to react to current trends and requirements.
- Coordinate, support, and attend bi-weekly model check-ins for e-commerce production, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication during call times.
