Competitive Compensation: Start at $17.40 per hour (plus gratuities), with pay increasing to $23.42 per hour after 90 shifts, plus bi-annual increases. What you will be doing: Provide consistently professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests at all banquet events. Assist guests with beverage and food menu selections, offering knowledgeable and helpful recommendations. Serve food and beverages for assigned banquet meetings, adhering to service standards. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, ingredients, and preparation methods. Maintain awareness of beverage lists and promotional offerings. Follow all safety, sanitation, and outlet policies and procedures when handling food and beverages. Complete other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall guest experience. Qualifications What we are looking for: Previous front-of-house customer service experience required. Valid Serving It Right certification is mandatory. Experience with point-of-sale systems is an asset. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Fluency in both official languages (English and French) is a key advantage. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Highly responsible, reliable, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to remain calm and courteous while focusing on guest needs. A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnights. Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Ability to stand and walk for long periods during shifts. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 30lbs regularly. Frequent kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Occasional climbing of stairs or ladders. Ability to carry multiple plates (three or more) at a time. Additional Information Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
