General Information The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates to join our organization as a casual Bartender at Cowichan Lake Recreation within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Coordinator, the Bartender performs bartending in all Cowichan Lake Recreation facilities and ensures patron satisfaction by providing the best service possible. The Bartender stores, prepares, handles, and serves all alcohol and non-alcohol related products, stocks the bar, performs cashiering, washes dishes, and ensures an organized, clean service environment. Qualifications Secondary School Graduation and a course in Mixology, or a combination of education and experience. Bartending and mixology experience. Experience in crowd management and security procedures. Experience handling cash and using cash machines including cash registers, interac and credit card. Hours of Work This casual, on-call opportunity has no guaranteed hours of work. Hours of work are based on operational need to accommodate facility events which may include days & evenings on weekdays & weekends. Successful applicants must be available to work a flexible variety of hours and shifts. Salary This position is unionized (USW Local 1-1937) and has a wage rate in two steps from $19.99 to $21.16 per hour (2026 rates), as per the Collective Agreement between the CVRD and USW Local 1‑1937.
