About EVT

At EVT we believe in changing the game. Why? Because no one wants ordinary. If you're seeking to be part of the kind of wow-factor moments you can help shape, then you've come to the right place.

As market-leading experience creators, we bring to life some of the best-known brands and properties in entertainment, ventures, and travel. Our portfolio includes over 140 entertainment experiences like Event Cinemas and Moonlight Cinemas, 150 award-winning restaurants and bars, and 80+ hotels, including QT, Rydges, Atura, LyLo, Independent Collection by EVT and Thredbo. Our ventures include a ~$2.3B property portfolio and hotel management, just to name a few.

The role

You'll be based at The Victoria Hotel, a heritage property on Little Collins Street in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, part of the Independent Collection by EVT. Set on the doorstep of Melbourne Town Hall and just minutes from Flinders Street Station and Federation Square, the hotel is a favourite with business and leisure guests alike, offering 371 heritage rooms alongside a lively bar and dining scene, function rooms, and event spaces right in the middle of the city's action.

As a Bartender, your role is to anticipate and meet the needs and desires of the hotel's guests, maintain our established standard of service, and adhere to the hotel's policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Anticipate and attend to guests' needs immediately, maintaining superior levels of food and beverage service.
  • Maintain your presentation in line with the hotel's grooming standards, and a harmonious relationship with the rest of the service team.
  • Build strong knowledge of the hotel's food and beverage service policies, procedures, and product range.
  • Produce and dispense food and beverage products in line with the hotel's standards.
  • Participate in rostered theoretical and on-the-job training sessions, and attend all scheduled meetings.
  • Comply with all of the hotel's operational policies and procedures, including cashiering and OH&S guidelines.
  • Ensure all areas are stocked to established par levels, and complete assigned opening and closing duties.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment, and protect and maintain all operating equipment.
  • Assist other departments or outlets when required, and carry out any other duties as directed by your supervisor or manager.

What you'll bring

  • Previous experience in a similar bartending or hospitality role.
  • A current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Sound knowledge of food and beverage products, including cocktails, wine, and beer (training will be provided).
  • Ability to stay calm and deliver great service during busy periods.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

How you work

  • Daymaker ethos: no one's too big for the small things.
  • Hands-on and non-hierarchical: leads from the front.
  • Resilient and solutions-focused: stays calm, moves fast.
  • Growth mindset: learns, shares, and levels up others.
