Supply staff covers various shifts at all twenty-two centres and assists with the implementation of programing that facilitate healthy physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth of children. Macaulay offers flexible shifts to match your schedule, opportunities for growth and competitive compensation! ---------------------------------------- RESPONSIBILITIES: * Supervise children to protect their safety and personal well-being at all times while in care.  Make sure equipment and physical environment is maintained free of safety or health hazards. * Assist with observations, program planning, and the implementation and execution of program activities using the curriculum and approach approved by the agency to promote children’s optimal emotional, cognitive and physical development.  * Demonstrate positive adult/child interaction, use effective and appropriate communication with children, promote children’s independence and problem solving skills, build children’s confidence, assist children with understanding and dealing with the consequences of their behavior and model mutual respect and kindness. * Communicate sensitively and appropriately with parents/families.  Provide meaningful information about their child’s day, including the child’s mood, behavior, health, choice of activities, sleep and mealtime information, and any accidents that may have occurred.     * Support the team to effectively manage children’s medication schedule and allergies. * Drop off and or pick up children from buses outside Centre (if applicable/if required). * Serve and clean up lunches, prepare snacks, maintain a clean, organized and sanitary kitchen, and perform housekeeping duties as assigned/as needed. * Work in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, Toronto Children’s Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), Toronto Public Health guidelines, Canada’s Food Guide, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Smoke Free Ontario Act and all other applicable regulations and laws. * Perform other tasks as delegated or assigned. * Assist in any emergency according to Macaulay Policy and Procedures. * Comply with all Macaulay policies, practices and quality standards. QUALIFICATIONS: * Early Childhood Education degree/diploma and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators. * Experience working with families and children, including children with special needs an asset.  * Understanding of ELECT, the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen, experience with Play Based curriculum, and/or the Toronto Assessment for Quality Improvement a definite asset. * Good written and verbal communication skills and excellent listening skills. * Computer literacy required together with proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and email. * Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective work partnerships with parents/families, colleagues and service providers of diverse backgrounds, abilities and identities. * Ability to communicate effectively in more than one language a definite asset. * Acceptable Vulnerable Police Record Check completed within the last 6 months. * Appropriate immunization and medical records * Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C training * Flexible schedule with the ability to work various shifts. ---------------------------------------- Macaulay has 22 child care centres (CCC) in the York and Etobicoke regions open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday: St. Andre CCC  36 Yvonne Ave St. John the Evangelist CCC 23 George St Dovercourt CCC 228 Bartlett Ave Keelesdale CCC 200 Bicknell Ave F.H.
