TAFE GIPPSLAND IS LOOKING FOR ABORIGINAL AND/OR TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER PEOPLE WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT SHARING THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCES WITH STUDENTS.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in helping students learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of living, history, and community stories in a respectful and honest way.

As a First Nations Perspectives Educator, you will:

  • Help create learning materials that reflect First Nations knowledge and perspectives
  • Support students in building cultural understanding they can carry into their careers and communities
  • Work with local Koorie communities to make sure the learning is guided by real voices and lived experiences

You don’t need to be a teacher to apply. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is proud of their background and community
  • Enjoys sharing stories and knowledge
  • Wants to help others learn and grow

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) is not mandatory but would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in the education sector would be an advantage

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
  • Current Police Check (no older than 12 months old)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Proof of Aboriginality and letter of endoresement from an Aboriginal Organisation
