TMG Catering is currently hiring experienced Function and Bistro Chefs to join the kitchen team at The Oxford Scholar, a busy and well-known venue located in Melbourne’s CBD.
This casual role is ideal for chefs who bring solid function and bistro experience, work well under pressure, and take pride in producing high-quality food for a variety of events — from corporate catering and canapé service to plated dinners and à la carte service.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in functions, event catering, or high-volume bistro kitchens
• Confidence with canapé, plated, and à la carte service styles
• Strong time management and multitasking skills
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
• Availability for evening, weekend, and event-based shifts
• Relevant qualifications and food safety knowledge

• Prepare and deliver menus for corporate events, cocktail functions, seated dinners, and bistro service
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
• Manage prep, service, and ensure kitchen hygiene and food safety compliance
• Work effectively under pressure and meet service timelines
• Collaborate with a supportive team in a dynamic kitchen environment
