  • Experience: Prior experience in housekeeping or domestic cleaning is preferred but not essential.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on cleanliness and maintaining high standards of presentation.
  • Professionalism: Discreet, polite, and able to maintain confidentiality when working in private spaces.
  • Flexibility: Able to adapt to varying schedules and tasks with short notice.
  • Communication: Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with the House Manager or Head Housekeeper.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, trustworthy, and a proactive attitude to work.
  • Driving License: A full, clean UK driving license may be required if transportation is needed to other locations.
Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the private household. As a flexible 0-hour role, the Housekeeper will assist with various cleaning and housekeeping tasks as required, including the upkeep of personal spaces, public areas, and other household areas. The position requires attention to detail, discretion, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living spaces, and other areas of the household to the highest standard, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning surfaces.
  • Antique & Fine Furnishing Care: Handle delicate furniture, fixtures, and antiques with care, ensuring their preservation and cleanliness.
  • Guest & Family Areas: Prepare guest rooms, change bedding, and ensure all areas are ready for family members or guests.
  • General Upkeep: Maintain the cleanliness of all areas, including windows, carpets, and upholstery. Assist with deep cleaning tasks as required.
  • Kitchen and Dining: Assist with light kitchen duties, including washing dishes, cleaning counters, and setting up dining areas for meals or events.
  • Stocking and Organization: Keep track of cleaning supplies and toiletries, ensuring that they are well-stocked and organized.
  • Event Preparation: Assist with preparations for events or special occasions within the household, including setting up rooms, arranging decor, and cleaning before and after events.
  • Flexibility & Availability: Respond to requests for cleaning and housekeeping tasks as needed, often at short notice. Evening, weekend, and holiday cover may be required.
