HOUSEKEEPER (DAY AND EVENING) JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Housekeeper
Department: Housekeeping
Location: Rocky View Lodge
Reports To: Head Housekeeper
Schedule: Days 7 AM - 3 PM, Evenings 3 - 11 PM

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our senior residents. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and has a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for seniors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred, especially in a healthcare or residential setting.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.
  • Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleaning and Sanitizing:
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of residents’ rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
  • Ensure all surfaces, floors, and furniture are kept clean and free from dust, dirt, and debris.
  • Regularly clean and disinfect high-touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
  • Laundry Services:
  • Manage the collection, washing, drying, and returning of residents’ personal laundry and linens.
  • Ensure proper handling and care of residents’ garments to avoid damage.
  • Waste Management:
  • Empty and dispose of trash and recycling in designated areas.
  • Follow proper protocols for the disposal of hazardous waste materials.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and store them according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel immediately.
  • Resident Interaction:
  • Maintain a respectful and friendly demeanor when interacting with residents.
  • Be attentive to the needs and preferences of residents, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
  • Communicate any resident concerns or requests to the appropriate staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleaning and Sanitizing:
  • Clean and sanitize common areas, including lounges, dining rooms, hallways, and bathrooms.
  • Perform scheduled deep-cleaning tasks in accordance with the lodge’s standards.
  • Vacuum, mop, and dust all designated areas.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with lodge policies.
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
  • Laundry Services:
  • Wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, towels, and personal clothing items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and store them according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel immediately.
  • Ensure all entrances and exits are secure during the night shift.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure the safety and well-being of residents, responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Resident Interaction:
  • Maintain a respectful and friendly demeanor when interacting with residents.
  • Be attentive to the needs and preferences of residents, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
  • Communicate any resident concerns or requests to the appropriate staff.
