…then being a Library and Archive Assistant in Sheffield Libraries might be the perfect choice for you.

As a Library and Archive Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the library. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting customers in locating and borrowing materials
  • Shelving and organizing books and other resources
  • Assisting customers using self-service machines, providing IT support and assisting with digital resources
  • Answering a diverse range of enquiries
  • Supporting library events
  • Maintaining a welcoming library environment

This is a Casual position in which you will be working across the city covering gaps in staffing at Libraries throughout Sheffield, including evenings (at Central Library) and Saturdays (across the service). Saturday working attracts an enhanced rate of pay. All Libraries are closed on Thursdays, except for the Central Library, and all Libraries are closed on Sundays.
