Description

We are currently looking for Casual Museum Assistants to join our Front of House Team in readiness for our busy and exciting upcoming summer season at Brooklands Museum and beyond! Our Museum Assistants work flexibly across the Museum throughout the year and can support with a wide range of activities. Although much of your day will be spent on front of house activities within our Admissions area, you may also have the opportunity to help with a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks. You are the face of the museum for our visitors and will be the first and maybe the last Team of people our visitors will see! Your interactions with our visitors can really make someone’s visit special. With knowledge and enthusiasm, you will help visitors to find their way around our collections, share stories and facts about the Museum to help every visitor understand ‘it happened here at Brooklands’ and help us deliver ’an incredible day out’ every day.
As part of the Front of House Team, you will report to our Admissions & Retail Manager and the Assistant Retail & Admissions Manager and play your part to ensure that the Museum consistently provides a high-quality experience to all. During busy event days, your role becomes even more dynamic. You may be stationed at various locations across the site to assist with a range of tasks, such as managing the entry of exhibit vehicles, selling admission tickets from different points, and helping maintain smooth visitor flow throughout the venue.
We are looking to build a strong Team of staff who are available to help support throughout the year on a casual basis. This is a flexible position where the hours of work are not fixed and can vary based on staffing needs. This role will often involve work on an “as-needed” basis, and will not be guaranteed work every week or day, however a rota will be provided to you well in advance so you are fully aware of your shifts and hours.

HOW TO APPLY

Please apply via our recruitment website where you will find the full job description and further information about working at Brooklands Museum. You will be asked to submit your CV and a covering letter detailing how your experience could help us in this role and how you meet the requirements of our person specification.
