Operational Operationally supervise the college bar in line with documented bar procedures and requirements of the Food & Beverage Service Head, Head Chef and College Bar & Retail Committee. Correct where appropriate and flag to the Food & Beverage Service Head / College Bar & Retail Committee where applicable. Promote compliance with licensing legislation, the licence, and documented procedures. Correct where appropriate and flag to the Food & Beverage Service Head / College Bar & Retail Committee where applicable. Promote financial sustainability requirements and expectations of the College Bar & Retail Committee. Correct where appropriate and flag to the Food & Beverage Service Head College Bar & Retail Committee where applicable. Be a secondary point of contact (after FBSH) for bar related queries from the bar team, and subsidiary point of contact for College Bar & Retail Committee and College community, Finance and H&S. Schedule rotas based on weekly trade forecasts. Amend rotas as necessary to ensure financial sustainability within guidance set by the College Bar & Retail Committee.) Review bar team timecards. Create weekly bar stock order requirements. Supervise cash handling, including completion of weekly safe checks, flagging any financial discrepancies to the Food & Beverage Service Head and the College Bar & Retail Committee. Support Food & Beverage Service Head to complete the month end stocktaking process. Support Food & Beverage Service Head to provide month end financial report details. Support the Food & Beverage service Head to complete the financial reporting spreadsheet. Request equipment repairs and replacements with the Food & Beverage Service Head / local Community Operations Manager. Contribute (as a member) to the College Bar & Retail Committee. Health & Safety Supervise the compliance of H&S and food safety legislation, documented procedures, and guidance (including cleanliness.) Correct where appropriate and flag where applicable to the Food & Beverage Service Head / Head Chef / College Bar & Retail Committee. Support the Food & Beverage Service Head to train all bar staff on H&S and food safety training (using DU standardised documents.) Support the Food & Beverage Service Head with completion of all compliance records, including cleaning schedules and temperature control records (using DU standardised documents.) Correct where appropriate and flag where applicable to the Food & Beverage Service Head / Head Chef. Support the Food & Beverage Service Head to update and ensure use of all mandatory food allergen and food labelling detail (using DU standardised documents.) Recruitment and Training With support from the Food & Beverage Service Head recruit, induct and train the bar team (using DU standardised documents as detailed on standardised bar staff training cards.) Planning With support from the Food & Beverage Service Head and College, support with planning and execution of bar and cafe aspects of college events. Health & Safety Supervise the compliance of H&S and food safety legislation, documented procedures, and guidance (including cleanliness.) Correct where appropriate and flag where applicable to the Food & Beverage Service Head / Head Chef / College Bar & Retail Committee. Train all bar staff on H&S and food safety training (using DU standardised documents.) Complete all compliance records, including cleaning schedules and temperature control records (using DU standardised documents.) Correct where appropriate and flag where applicable to the Food & Beverage Service Head / Head Chef. Update all mandatory food allergen and food labelling detail (using DU standardised documents.) Recruitment and Training Support the Food & Beverage Service Head to induct and train the incoming Bar Sabbatical Officer or Non-Sabbatical Bar Steward (using standardised documents as detailed on DU standardised bar staff training card.) With support from the Food & Beverage Service Head recruit, induct and train the bar team (using DU standardised documents as detailed on standardised bar staff training cards.) Planning With support from the Food & Beverage Service Head effectively plan and execute bar and cafe aspects of college events. Required Candidates must be a student of Hatfield College Bar experience Desired Currently a member of Hatfield Bar Staff (or have previously been an employee if after a gap year or other break)
