The role: A casual research intern is sought to support the UKRI-funded, interdisciplinary SAT-Guard project SAT-Guard - Durham University. The intern be involved in the Social Science work package, and assist with the processing of raw interview data into a format that is ready to analyse. The role is offered on an as-needed, casual basis, and will involve listening to audio recordings and cross-checking them against transcripts to verify accuracy. This vacancy is suitable for a final year undergraduate student in Anthropology, Geography, or another related discipline, who is looking to gain real-world experience of qualitative data processing. The below role descriptor seeks to capture the main requirements of the role consistently, providing a summary of the key duties of the flexible role to help in setting expectations for applicants, flexible workers and line managers. They are not intended to cover all duties which may be required. Role Responsibilities Research Intern Casual rate Under instruction and following appropriate training: Work alongside the team to contribute to the delivery of research project(s) Develop experience and skills from working in a real-world research environment Contribute specific skills (i.e. technical, research, subject specific knowledge) to the research work of the department Plan and prioritise own work, adhering to agreed deliverables and timeframes and referring any issues with workload or timeframes to colleagues Essential criteria for the role: High level of attention to detail Fluency in English and familiarity regional with accents Ability to follow instructions accurately Competent user of Word Ability to manage own time and keep good records of hours spent working on the project To apply for the role please complete the online application process, uploading a copy of your CV and covering letter.
