General Information The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates to join our organization as a casual Shift Supervisor at the Cowichan Community Centre, within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Manager, Cowichan Community Centre and directly supervised by the Recreation Programmer II, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising program staff in the operation of a recreational facility, and provides a direct contact to the public. Qualifications Secondary School graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience. WHMIS Certificate – provided by employer Basic First Aid certificate Class 5 Drivers License – employer provided vehicle Experience as an Activity Leader III and/or experience with recreation programming and providing leadership to recreation programming staff. Hours of work are scheduled based on operational need. Successful candidates must be available to work a flexible variety of shifts including days & evenings on weekdays, weekends, statutory holidays, and school professional development days. Salary This casual opportunity is unionized (CUPE Local 358) and is compensated in three steps $19.79 - $20.94 - $22.13 per hour (2025 rates), plus an additional 14.5% pay in lieu of vacation, benefits and stat holidays.
