  CASUAL SPECIALIZED TEACHER     Parkland School is a designated special education independent school that supports approximately 25 students, ranging in age from 6 to 19.  It is a setting tailored to meet the needs of children with significant physical and developmental disabilities. We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic educator to join our team.  If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of exceptional learners, we’d love to hear from you.   Duties will include: providing instructional, behavioral, and regulation support to students with diverse learning needs when their specialized teacher is absent. In this role, you’ll help maintain a stable and supportive learning environment by working closely with support staff, helping each student reach their full potential through the implementation of their Individual Program Plans.   Qualifications: Skilled in coordinating and managing classrooms for students with complex needs, including those with severe developmental, physical, medical, and behavioral challenges. Demonstrates a strong understanding of inclusive values such as citizenship, personal choice, supportive environments, and equal access to opportunities.   Candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, ability to successfully adapt/modify curriculum, strong communication skills, and willingness to assist with personal care. Knowledge and appreciation of Indigenous tradition and cultural ways is an asset. Driver’s license and transportation is also an asset.   Education and experience: You must hold interim or permanent certification from Alberta Education. Additional course work in teaching special needs students is highly desirable.   Hours of Work: Casual Hours; Parkland School hours: Monday – Friday, 8:45am 4:00pm  Wage: $31.52 - $34.71 per hour    We offer a friendly and caring and helpful working environment.    Please send a cover letter & resume quoting competition #8318STCAS by November 13, 2025    We thank all applicants but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.  Competition will remain open until a suitable applicant is found.
