Description
Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital Step into a fast-paced Theatre environment where precision and teamwork make all the difference. As Theatre Assistant - Set-Up, you will play a vital part in completing sterile set-ups as directed by the Clinical Nurse Manager or Shift Coordinator. You will take ownership of maintaining a consistent supply of sterile equipment to operating rooms in accordance with relevant standards including AS4187 and contributing directly to patient safety and clinical excellence. The role is offered on a Casual basis. The Position: Prepare case set-ups as directed, including all required sterile consumables and instruments. Maintain stock rotation and daily replenishment of consumables in line with standards (including AS4187). Safely handle, transport, store, and return sterile and non-sterile supplies to correct locations. Work with theatre staff (nurses, technicians, CSSD) to source, track, and manage instrument requirements. Assemble and update case carts according to Surgeon Preference Cards, ensuring availability and restocking of instruments. You will have knowledge and practical skills in sterilisation technology and instrument processing, along with the ability to apply Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health standards in a clinical environment. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, ensuring accurate and effective information sharing. You will be proactive, with the capacity to act quickly to identify and resolve issues and show a genuine commitment to continuous quality improvement and excellence in patient care. Responsibilities
