WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience in retail, showroom, or hospitality (furniture/homewares experience is a bonus)

  • Someone who is looking for weekend or part-time work only. Ideally someone who is a student or someone just looking to earn a bit of extra money on a weekend.

  • A naturally warm, confident communicator who loves connecting with people, but also thrives in a fast paced and dynamic work environment

  • Interest in furniture, interiors, or design is highly regarded
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using POS, CRM, and online platforms
  • Reliable, proactive, and comfortable working independently as well as in a team
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a casual Showroom Assistant, you’ll be the face of Banana Home in our South Melbourne showroom working with your colleagues and assisting customers in looking at furniture and answering any questions or queries you might have. You will be assisting the person running the store in dealing with customers and providing any necessary assistance on the day as it can get busy at times. Your role is to provide a warm, memorable in-store experience, assisting customers in discovering the perfect pieces for their home and guiding them through the purchase journey with confidence and care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome and engage customers in a friendly, professional manner
  • Provide thoughtful advice on product selection, configurations, materials, and finishes
  • Maintain the visual merchandising and cleanliness of the showroom
  • Support sales processing and assist with online order placement when required
  • You’re essentially providing assistance to the person running the store when there are multiple customers in the showroom at once.
