LAWRENCE YOUTH ASSOCIATION Has an immediate opening for Casual Youth Justice Worker   Wage: $29.72 per hour plus 10% in lieu of benefits.   START DATE: Immediate         HOURS:       Shifts include rotational day, evening and night shifts as required.    Positions will work at Sundance (Amherstview) and Beacon Harbour (Kingston) per operational requirements.   SALARY:          Starting at $29.72 per hour   Purpose  Bring your knowledge and experience to St. Lawrence Youth Association, (SLYA) to work with justice involved youth. Under the general direction and supervision of the Custody Services Supervisor and Manager, you will provide services to justice involved youth, aged 12 to 17 years in a secure or open custody facility. This role requires a strong presence and assertive communication, while leading through example in difficult situations in a manner suited to culture, gender and developmental needs.      Mandatory requirements: Valid Province of Ontario ‘G’ Driver’s License  Criminal reference check that is declared suitable for broad record check  Current First Aid/CPR- Certificate Successful candidate will be required to provide a physician’s note indicating their fitness to work as per the job description Mandatory to work 72 hours in a three month period   Bilingualism and volunteer experience is an asset   Duties/Responsibilities:              Communication/Teamwork * Experience/education to fulfil the role of Youth Justice Worker * Verbal communication to liaise with staff and clients to support  * Written communication skills for completion of shift logbook including accuracy, inclusivity and completion prior to sign off, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
