SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Looks for solutions to unique underwriting situations
  • Understands pricing techniques
  • Understands account servicing costs
  • Has a working knowledge of alternative risk transfer
  • Understands development of reserves by individual case and by book of business
  • Has a working knowledge of the key accounts in the Branch
  • Understands the underwriting appetites of the other departments and how those relate to interdepartmental accounts
  • Understands the broker selection and appointment process
  • Makes recommendations for tailoring coverage and manuscripting policies
  • Is familiar with the products / services of key competitors
  • Is comfortable with a wide range of negotiation techniques
  • Has demonstrated ability to work well with people and influence decisions.
