About the Role:
Everest Insurance International is expanding rapidly across new regions and lines of businesses. As a Catastrophe Modelling Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting our underwriting teams by analyzing natural catastrophe risks such as earthquakes, hurricanes and floods and delivering actionable insights. You will be responsible for the pre-binding pricing of all natural catastrophe risk classes (Property, Energy and Marine). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative modelling tools and workflows that shape our global risk strategy.
Based in our Singapore office, with a hybrid schedule of working two days remote each week, you will report to the Property Cat Modelling Lead based in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for pre-bind pricing of natural catastrophe risks using Verisk vendor models and other external data sources for the Property class of business
  • Support catastrophe event response reporting (e.g. understanding locations in the path of a hurricane approaching landfall)
  • Communication of cat model output to key stakeholders including Underwriters, Actuarial and Senior Management
  • Communicating with the outsourcing team to ensure data used for cat pricing and aggregations is complete, accurate, and timely
  • Support the development of tools to help automate current cat modelling processes
  • Collaborate, present, and share knowledge with the wider Exposure Management team and Group Exposure Management function
  • Ad hoc Exposure Management projects, as required (current projects to be discussed at interview)

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience presenting
  • Strong technical skillset (e.g. Excel / SQL / GIS / PowerBI / Python)
  • Ability to work under own initiative and show flexibility to meet business needs
  • Ambitious and inquisitive, keen to work closely with the wider Cat team, to drive change in the function
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, including Senior Management
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a small dynamic team and build strong working relationships across teams and regions
  • Ability to think differently to find innovative solutions to problems
