Catastrophe Analyst Join Aon’s Impact Forecasting team of scientists, developers, and client specialists who build cutting‑edge catastrophe models for perils such as tropical cyclone, flood, windstorm, earthquake, wildfire, and terrorism used across the re/insurance industry. We are looking for a new member of Catastrophe Insight – a team of experts working towards better understanding of historical, ongoing and future natural disasters by providing advisory and scientific context related to our data and solutions! What you will do: Work closely with CAT Insight team to monitor global natural disasters and prepare Catastrophe Reports (weekly, quarterly, annual) Conduct research to strengthen Aon’s historical natural disaster loss database Develop and conduct statistical analysis to identify trends and historical disaster losses indexation Support development of automated, real-time catastrophe model solutions that inform our clients about impacts of ongoing natural disasters Provide specific disaster-related analyses to colleagues, brokers and clients Help integrate climate change research into practical IF & Aon solutions How this opportunity is different We are looking for a technically strong, curious candidate eager to grow in applying earth sciences within the re/insurance industry, with the ability to clearly explain complex topics. Skills and experiences that will lead to success Degree in Meteorology or a related Earth Science field Understanding of global weather & climate trends, numerical weather models and remote sensing data Technical writing and editing skills & the ability to communicate clearly in a written and verbal manner Analytical skills with a background in data analysis, interpretation and delivery of statistical information Programming skills (Python, R, SQL) is an advantage Familiarity with CAT modelling or insurance is a plus Knowledge of Microsoft Office, ArcGIS/QGIS, Adobe Suite, Tableau, etc. Please note applications are available for candidates with valid work permit in Czechia.
