Description The position of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS ) & Admission and Development Coordinator shall show evidence of a knowledge of a Catholic philosophy of education and exhibit a Christ-like respect and fairness in dealing with others. In collaboration with the Principal and Pastor, he/she shall strive to advance St. Mary’s School through a positive and productive development of relationships within our community and the community at large. He/she further commits to proclaim the mission and vision of St. Mary’s Catholic School and the basic beliefs, values and traditions of the Catholic Church through any literature, media representations and public relations activities related to the school. He/she will serve as the Catechesis of the Good Shepard teacher working within the school schedule. PURPOSE OF POSITION: The position of CGS teacher and Admissions and Development shall lead in the overall marketing and public relations of St. Mary’s School by: · Developing, organizing and maintaining a comprehensive admissions and recruitment program · Establishing relationships with families, support for our school · Teach once a week Catechesis of the Good Shepard Atrium class to St. Mary’s school students · Coordinating publicity and public relations events through collaboration with the Communications and Public Relations Specialist and other members of the administrative team MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The position of CGS teacher will coordinate lessons with the DRE director in setting up weekly lessons for the school children. In Admissions this role will serve alongside the principal in coordination of the admissions and public relations program for the school and is a leader chiefly responsible for developing effective marketing that results in school advancement, new student recruitment, financial donations, grants or other monetary rewards. Recruitment Coordinate the Admissions process: Advertising, Design and prepare application materials, Admission Information Events, Conduct Tours, Provide accurate information to potential applicants Submit new applicants to the Principal for admission Generate the entire acceptance packet Record in school database date of acceptance Retains the student file until registration packet is returned by the prospective family Forwards student file and completed registration packet to Registrar for data entry Coordinate with high schools information necessary for 8th grade students high school enrollment Fundraising Designs, implements and manages all fundraising activities Maintains contact with and develops grant proposals for foundations and corporations. Develops and implements parent and class-based fundraising programs within the Annual Fund. Designs, organizes and facilitates the major community fundraising events and community events Will be the lead organizer of the Mardi Gras Gala Will facilitate communication for all school fundraisers Coordinate parent volunteers and homeroom moms Develops necessary fundraising training for leadership volunteers. Assumes responsibility for all Development reports to the Board and other agencies, and attends all Board meetings. Assists the Board with recommending and researching potential new members. Requirements EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: · Minimum of a Bachelors degree. · Marketing, public relations or communications major preferred · Certified Atrium CGS RELIGIOUS PREFERENCE: Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church SKILLS AND ABILITIES: · Excellent interpersonal skills · Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in written and oral form and effectively communicate/present information to various stakeholders. · Ability to read, analyze, interpret data, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. · Ability to write reports and business correspondence · Ability to orally and effectively communicate/present information to various stakeholders. · Ability to define problems, gather, analyze and synthesize data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. · Commitment to a Catholic philosophy of education. · Participate in community organizations · Must be proficient in Microsoft Office PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION: · Must be able to sit or stand for long periods · Must be able to reach with hands and arms. · Employee may occasionally lift/and or move up to 50 pounds. · Specific vision abilities required include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus, as well as, distance vision for supervisory purposes. · Demands of the extended workday require a high level of physical endurance. · Should be able to handle and balance multiple demands at one time.
