Description

We are looking for a proactive and driven Category Buyer to join our team!
The Category Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, components, or services that meet the organisation’s operational and commercial needs. This role requires strong negotiation skills, market awareness and compliance with UK procurement regulations and sustainability goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years procurement experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in UK manufacturing, construction or industrial sectors preferred
  • Familiarity with UK procurement frameworks
  • Level 4 CIPS or above is desirable
  • SAP experience advantageous
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for assigned commodities
  • Identify, evaluate and onboard UK based and international suppliers
  • Negotiate contract, pricing and delivery terms to optimise cost and quality
  • Monitor commodity markets and supply chain risks
  • Ensure compliance with UK/EU procurement laws and ethical sourcing standards
  • Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, finance, logistics) to forecast demand
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics and resolve delivery or quality issues
  • Support sustainability initiatives and circular economy goals (E.g. recycled materials)
